Lyme Dems to Meet on Tuesday, Sept 2nd

Join the Lyme Democratic Committee for an important organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 2nd at 7pm at the Lyme library.

We will be discussing canvassing and phone-banking for the general election for all of our candidates, including Barack Obama, Jeanne Shaheen, John Lynch, and Paul Hodes. 

There are important local races to support, too, including New Hampshire State Senator Deb Reynolds, as well as the Democratic slate to the New Hampshire House (Sharon Nordgren, Bernie Benn, David Pierce, and Lyme's own Beatriz Pastor).

Meetings are open to anyone, and we try to finish by 8pm or so.  Hope you can join us!

Join Us for the Lyme Flea Market

Representatives from the Lyme Democrat Committee will once again be at the Lyme Flea Market this Saturday, August 30th from approximately 9am until 1pm.

The Lyme Flea market is held every summer month (which, in a stretch of definition, means May thru September) on the last Saturday of the month.  It takes place on the Common in Lyme.  From Hanover, NH and other points South, travel north on Route 10 until you reach the Common on your right.  From Orford and points north, travel south on Route 10 until you reach the Common on your left. 

We will have literature from as many candidates as possible, and will be looking to share opinions from the Democratic National Convention. 

Celebration for Rep. Ruth Bleyler

All Lyme residents are invited to join us on the evening of Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 8pm to celebrate Ruth Bleyler’s service to Lyme. 

After three very productive terms in the New Hampshire House, Ruth is “retiring” and we want to thank her for her work on behalf everyone in Lyme. 

The celebration will be held at the home of Peggy Little at 68 Breck Hill Road. 

After celebrating Ruth’s service, we will watch Senator Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, which will be occurring on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Joining the celebration will be two special guests: New Hampshire State Senator Deb Reynolds (D-District 2) and the newest Democratic candidate from Lyme for the New Hampshire House, Beatriz Pastor.

Wine, beer, soft drinks, and dessert will be served. 

We will also be collecting contributions for our campaign fund to support local Democratic candidates.  Click here to learn more.
