The canvass is being run out the Horse Meadows Senior Center in North Haverhill.  See the map above for the exact location.

I will be there today and tomorrow at 1pm, and of course at the Lyme Transfer Station on High Street from 8:30am to 11am on Sunday.

Monday's plans are unknown, but look to this site for more information.

The Final Stretch 2008

Here's a quick update on the final stretch of activities for the Lyme Dems as we approach Election Day 2008.

Visibility

  • Tomorrow morning, Thursday, October 30th, we will be out there on the Lyme Common from approximately 7:15am to 8:30am.  Two days ago, we had nearly 15 people holding signs and causing all sort sorts of commotion -- horns beeping, traffic slowing, etc -- in Lyme's primary intersection.  Join Us!  We have plenty of signs.
  • We will be at the Lyme Transfer Station on Sunday, November 2nd, from 8:30am to 11am.  The Transfer Station is located on High Street in Lyme.  It's easy to find (between Dorchester and Route 10 north), and we hope you can join us.
  • Election Day, November 4th, we will be in front of the polls (Lyme School) all day long.  Join us there, too!

Canvassing

  • Join us this weekend, November 1-2, as we canvass in northern Grafton County.  The New Hampshire Democratic Party has opened an office in Haverhill, and will be running canvasses out of that location (Horse Meadows Senior Center in Haverhill).   In terms of politics, this is one of the "reddest" parts of the Granite State and critical to our victory in the 2008 election.  Canvasses are being run everyday from 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm out of this location.  The contact person is Bill Harris. He can reached via email at kidspac@mindspring.com or via cellphone at 617-413-5048.
  • The location of the Horse Meadows Senior Center is as follows: 91 Horse Meadow Road, Haverhill, NH, 03774 (603) 787-2539

More Than This

  • OK, we still need some people to help make phone calls to make certain that committed Obama supporters vote on Election Day.  Contact me at pglenshaw@earthlink.net if you want to help.
  • There is definite need for volunteers on Election Day to conduct visibility, poll-checking, and phone-banking in "red" towns in northern New Hampshire.  Contact me at pglenshaw@earthlink.net if you want to help.

Time to Canvass Haverhill

Haverhill canvass Oct-12-2008Once again, we will be canvassing in Haverhill, NH this weekend for Barack Obama, John Lynch, Jeanne Shaheen, Paul Hodes, Deb Reynolds, and the rest of the Democratic ticket.

We had a terrific canvas two weeks ago, and plan to do it again this coming Sunday, October 26th at 12pm

You can see some photos of the participants on the right -- and yes, that is John Chamberlin on the left, the Chair of the Grafton County Democrats.

We had about ten people join us two weeks ago, and hope for at least as many this weekend.

Join us at the gazebo on the Common in Haverhill Corner.  The map below shows where we will meet.

See you then.

Lyme Visibility Tomorrow!

Lyme_dems_visibility_102120081 Come and join us on Thursday morning, October 23rd, on the Lyme Common for a visibility effort on behalf of Barack Obama, Jeanne Shaheen, Paul Hodes, John Lynch, Deb Reynolds, and the rest of the Democratic ticket in the November election.

We will meet on the Lyme Common -- across the street from Stella's restaurant -- at 7:15am and stay there until 8:30am or so.

As you can see, we had a terrific turnout at our first visibility -- there 9 Democratic supporters on a cold and wet Tuesday morning.

Remember to dress warmly -- boots, a hat, mittens, and ideally something warm to drink.

Hope to see you there!

Volunteers Needed for Election Day

Volunteers are needed in Lyme to help elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States on Election Day 2008.

Volunteers are need for different activities during the course of the day.  Any commitment of time is appreciated and will be utilized.

Here are the different "jobs" that we need:

1) Poll visibility (hold a sign in front of the Lyme School; yes, people do make up their mind while walking to the polls!)

2) Vote checkers (determining if a Lyme voter who has previously committed to voting for Obama has come to vote)

3) Phone callers (contacting any Obama supporters in Lyme who have not voted yet to remind them to vote)

4) Data entry (work with our database to update the Democratic office in Lebanon how many Obama voters have voted throughout the day; requires computer skills).

We also need volunteers to prepare coffee, drinks, and food during the day for our volunteers.

Want to help?  Please email me with some indication about how many hours you can work, what times of day you prefer, and if there is any job you'd like to do.

We will meet one week before Election Day, on Tuesday, October 28th at 7pm in the Lyme Library to discuss GOTV plans in detail.

Please volunteer for Election Day.  We really can use everyone's involvement!

Visibility on the Lyme Common

The Lyme Dems invite all supporters of Senator Obama and other candidates on the Democratic ticket to the Lyme Common starting this week for early-morning rush-hour visibility in support these candidates.

We will be meeting on the East end of the Common (across the street from Stella's) at 7am-ish.  We will have some signs for Obama and other candidates, but encourage people to make or bring their own signs.  Stay for as long as you can (even 15 minutes of help would be great).  We will end the visibility around 8:30am.

The first visibility event will be held this Tuesday, October 21st at 7am-ish.  We will also meet on Thursday, October 23rd at the same time, and hope to repeat visibility in the next Tuesday and Thursday, too (October 28th and October 30th).

All ages are invited.  Dress warmly; hats, gloves, warm socks, books, and a hot drink are recommended!

Haverhill, NH Canvass announced

There will be a Democratic Party canvass of Haverhill, NH -- including the villages of Woodsville and North Haverhill -- next Sunday, October 12th, beginning at 12pm and running the entire afternoon.

This will be a coordinated canvass for Obama, Shaheen, Hodes, and other Democratic candidates.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart in Woodsville (4901 Dartmouth College Highway, at the intersection of Route 10 and 302) at 12pm.  Because of the rural nature of Haverhill, NH, participants are encouraged to bring only a couple of canvassers per car in order to cover the maximum amount of territory.

Email Peter Glenshaw if you want to join the Haverhill canvass.

Can't do the entire afternoon, or only have a few hours to spare?  We can put you to work regardless of your schedule.  Just let me know what is possible!
